⚡️⚡️ During the night of 10th September 2026, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck the Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port in the Republic of Dagestan, russian federation. A fire was reported at the site.

The extent of the damage is being assessed.

ℹ️ Background. The Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port is the only ice-free deep-water port of the russian federation on the Caspian Sea and an important transport and logistics hub.

The port plays a key role in the russia–Iran logistics corridor across the Caspian Sea, which is used to circumvent Western sanctions. The route is used for military-related deliveries in both directions: from Iran to the russian federation — components and Shahed-type attack UAVs; and from the russian federation to Iran — explosives, components for unmanned systems and ammunition. A russian Caspian Flotilla base is located near the port.

In addition, following an analysis of additional data, strikes on 9th September 2026 were confirmed to have hit fuel oil storage facilities in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai, russian federation, as well as at least three enemy warships: the Zheleznyakov-class small minesweeper, the Admiral Essen frigate, and the Project 11711 Pyotr Morgunov large landing ship.

Operations against key enemy military targets are ongoing.
