Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Ihor SKYBIUK – Major General, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Date of birth: 1977.

Education:

1998 - Odesa Military Academy.

2011 - National University of Defense of Ukraine.

2024 - National University of Defense of Ukraine.

Military service:

Rose through the ranks from commander of an airborne platoon to deputy brigade commander – chief of the airborne service of a separate airborne assault brigade of the Highly Mobile Airborne Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including service as commander of a special platoon of the special company of the Ukrainian peacekeeping contingent in Kosovo, Republic of Serbia (2001-2002).

Subsequently, held positions of:

  • Chief of staff – first deputy commander of a separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • Commander of a separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • Chief of Staff – Deputy Commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • Commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Since June 3, 2025 – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Awards: Hero of Ukraine; received state and ministerial awards.
