General Oleksandr Syrskyi

Born in:1965.

Education:
  • 1986 – Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School;
  • 1998 – Academy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • 2006 – National Defense Academy of Ukraine.
Military service:
  • Served through all ranks from the commander of a motorized rifle platoon to the commander of a separate mechanized infantry brigade.
Subsequently, held positions of:
  • Deputy Chief of Staff of the Rapid Response Corps;
  • Chief of Staff - First Deputy Commander of the Joint Operational Command;
  • First Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate for Military Cooperation and Peacekeeping Operations of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • First Deputy Chief of the Main Command Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • Chief of the Joint Operational Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Since February 8, 2024 – Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Hero of Ukraine, honored with state and ministerial awards.
